Next, we’ll use Blending Modes to get rid of that false look and reintroduce some of the original image colour so that the teeth look like part of the image, rather than some radioactive Colgate ad.
Blending Modes govern how the pixels in one layer affect, or are affected by, the pixels in underlying layers. For this tutorial we will use the Lighten Blend Mode to lighten the teeth whilst allowing a little realistic colouring throuh from the original image and finally lower the opacity of the Teeth layer until the actually look like a part of the image – usually around 50-70% works best but it differs for each image so experiment.
