The Weekend.

Had a good weekend - lots to do and lots of fun. Got very drunk and met some fine folks.
Did some drinking with The Kev, or Kevoir as he is known. As I may or may not have said, the cast of characters in my life will come in bits. For now you only need to know that I used to sing and play harmonica in a six-piece R&B band called The Scutters. Were talking about the sweaty, dark Rhythm and Blues of Howling Wolf et al rather than the wailing, turgid, Crying Boyz mess they call R&B these days. Anyway, along the way you'll come across members of this band so here's a list:-
Me - Vocals/Harmonica
The Kev - Drums
Bo - Vocals/tantrums (he left but we still drink with him 'cos he can go green).
Mouse - Rhythm guitar (pants wettingly funny - also known as "The Most Disgusting Man in the World").
Ken (Genghis Ken) - Lead Guitar and bile.
Rob (sometimes "Big Rob" - he's enormously tall and broad) - Bass guitar.
For more about what happened to The Scutters see my other site about my other band Rhythm and the Devil. Don't get all excited though, the MP3's don't work and it hasn't been updated for an age.
Anyway, did some drinking with Kevoir, had a couple of abortive attempts to go out with Rachel but we were scuppered by mobile phone technology, also bumped into an ex who told me that I was scared of commitment and incapable of loving anyone and then in the same breath invited me round for dinner. Hmmm. Said goodbye to Toad, the tallest man in the world, who is off to Thailand, Australia, Malaysia and anywhere else quite dangerous that he can think of.
The great thing about England is that for anything to poison you, you have to actively pick it up and eat it.
Over there the fucker just wanders over and bites you, or lives in your boot or swims up your piss. Eek
Oh, and I wanted to mention Radio WM lady, Jo. Met her at the weekend and she's kindly agreed to use her position at Radio WM to help me to kill Ed Doolan and Carl Chinn. Well, not precisely agreed as such - more looked at me in horror. But "Hi Jo" anyway.
Also had a practice with The Kev, an old friend Pete, Gary Leek who used to be in a band with my brother (when I can dig out that old demo oh boy are you in for an MP3 treat) and Mark, Matt and Dave all of whom have been around the rock/blues music scene here for ages. The plan is to have Pete's birthday (October) at a recording studio and put together a few songs with all the people that he's been in bands with over the years. As long as there's a bar, my good man... As long as there's a bar.
