In the CD Tray
The The - Infected
Livid eighties anger-cherub Matt Johnson tells us how wrong the world is. Really good and hardly dated at all except for the massive snares and slappy bass. I seem to remember that this album was also available as a video. Cool.
AC/DC - Powerage
Hard to believe that this is from 1978. Possibly the best of the Bon Scott albums, this still just astounds me - it is such a perfect rock/blues/boogie romp. Unfortunately the CD has been "remastered", which means that they've thrown unnecessary backing vocals into a couple of the songs that weren't there before. Still worth anyone's money though.
Stevie Wonder - Innervisions
Forget the bowel-churningly turgid "I Just Called To Say I Love You" or the woeful "Happy Birthday" - this is early Stevie Wonder. During the Wonder wasteland that was the eighties and nineties it was easy to forget that Stevie Wonder is an absolute genius whose lowest fart is funkier than Jamiroquai's finest hour. Listen to this and remember.
